Memories Of Typhoon Glenda, San Pablo City

Typhoon Glenda went through our city this week and it left a trail of toppled trees and roofless homes. We were fortunate enough to only suffer minimal damage but a lot of houses around us were not as lucky. Fortunately, no one was hurt in our barangay.

The most extreme part of Typhoon Glenda came at around 5:00 AM. The wind suddenly became crazy strong and it was really scary. I believe it was during this time when roofs started breaking away from houses. The wind was just crazy freaking strong.

As scary as Typhoon Glenda was, she was gone a few hours later. The strong wind and rain stopped like the typhoon never came.

Anyway, after the wind and rain stopped, my wife and I went out to look around and here are some pictures of what we saw.

This picture was taken at Platon Elementary School. If you look at the class rooms then you'll see that some of them have no roof. It was blown off by Typhoon Glenda.

The picture above is the roof that was blown off from the class rooms at Platon Elementary School.

Some of the trees at Platon Elementary School have lost their branches.

This is another room at Platon Elementary School with damaged roof caused by Typhoon Glenda's strong wind.

This is an inside picture of one of the rooms that has lost its roof. Students won't be able to use this room so if you know someone in the Department of Education then please give them a call.

This is a picture of a neighbor's house. As you can see, it has no roof. The roof was blown off by Typhoon Glenda.

These are just some of the pictures that I've taken right after Typhoon Glenda's wind and rain stopped. I have a few more pictures but they're in my phone. I'm going to share them in my next post because I'm still charging it.

  1. The typhoon definitely caused a lot of damaged in the provinces – from homes to businesses. We cannot turn back the time, but we can prepare for what’s coming. On our end, it would be best to take precaution and be prepared. Do basic repairs and get a home and car insurance for your properties.
