SM City San Pablo Hall Of Fame Winner In The 21ST Coconut Festival (Press Release)

San Pablo City — Thirty three floats covered coconut paraded in Rizal Avenue, San Pablo City as one of the highlight the celebration of 21st Coconut Festival this week.

The Coco Float parade last Wednesday was followed by street dancing competition. Various movie and television personalities were the guest judges adding glamour to the South most colorful and highly-anticipated festival.

City Tourism Head Ms. Donna Eseo said hundreds of locals and tourists are expected to crowd the parade route and witness the beautiful and festive floats competing for this year’s top prize.

With these year’s theme “Abante, Ariba Bayan ng San Pablo Sama sama sa saya sa Fiesta ng Niyog” , SM City San Pablo won the Coco Festival Float Parade making SM City San Pablo a hall of fame awardee. The inspiration behind the winning float is Sulyap Gallery Café rustic house showcasing San Pablo city as a progressive tourist destination in the South. The Float also features the iconic jeepney as the Philippines’ number one mode of transport in the province.

The entire float was covered with coconut skin, the Sulyap inspired house and Jeepney are both entirely made from coconut tree. The float was accentuated with coconut leaves.

Mall Manager GT Exconde and SM Department Store Maricel Florido accepted the award in the City Plaza. “Just like the City of San Pablo, SM will continue to innovate and strive for excellence making our mall a mall for everyone, there are definitely a lot to watch out for this 2016, Mr. Exconde said.

The City Mayor and Cocofestival Committee Chairman, Hon. Loreto “Amben “ Amante congratulated SM City San Pablo for winning the best Float. Mayor  Amante  also said that“ The SM City San Pablo’s Float added attraction to the much awaited 21st Cocofestival in the City of San Pablo. “  (NWR)
