Flavors of The Philippines: Native Kitchen featured in SM City San Pablo (Press Release)

A month-long festival featuring the best of Philippines’ gastronomic offerings ranging from culinary tours, food trucks, bar crawls, concerts, to agricultural fairs, weekend gourmet markets and bazaars will make up for the Flavors of the Philippines 2016.

Flavors of the Philippines, which will be held in different SM Supermalls, across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, happened alongside with Madrid Fusion Manila 2016.

This event was organized by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and its marketing arm, Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) as an “appetizer” to the main course with partnership with SM.

Here in SM City San Pablo, the highlights of Flavors of the Philippines is the Native Kitchen of the third District of Laguna which includes an exhibit and food fest. Some of the featured food were the Mushroom burger by KuboTea, Kinulob na Itik by Comedor En Kamillah,, Winter Halo Halo by Ben’s Halo Halo, Kamias Brownies by Hiraya Bakery, Buko Pie by Collette’s Buko Pie and Pasalubong,Sinukmani by CarlMikel, Crispy Pata Binagoongan and Kalabuko by Forest Wood Garden. The event include a one day free pass to unlimited food tasting in the Mall atrium.

SM City Pablo’s Mall Manager GT Exconde said “We are delighted to be part of the Flavors of the Philippines celebration” .To quote undersecretary Benito Bengzon Jr., for his part, described Flavors as “the delightful run-up to the grand gastronomical event in Asia.”.” It will take us to every corner of the archipelago for gustatory discoveries—for treasures handed down from generation to generation, for fusion dishes that encapsulate the identity of the Filipino,” he added.

He further said that this event is meant to cement the Philippines as one of Asia’s center of food and gastronomy.
