Sampalok Lake Photos
Among the 7 lakes, Sampalok Lake is the most accessible, the most popular, the most developed and the closest to our home. Sampalok Lake is also like a free public fitness center because people go there to exercise and jog or walk around the lake. In one of our recent walks around the lake, I was able to take some new pictures of the lake and the surrounding area.
As you can see, the lake is very calm when I took this photo. The foreground is kinda dark because I was under the shade of some trees but the rest is bright and clear. The water looks so clear in the picture but I wouldn't swim in it. It only looks clean but it's also not that dirty. It does have some trash floating near the edge though.
I have no idea what this thing is called. Is it a monument, a marker, a memorial stone, a statue or just a rock with something on it? Whatever it is, you'll find it near the edge of Sampalok.
This stone thing is from San Pablo Colleges and the writing on the plaque, at least part of it, says "Here stands before you, nine magnificent trees as lasting legacies of the singular vision of the nine member schools of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)".
My memory is kinda dull but I think I'll have to re-check that particular place. I kinda want to see where they placed these 9 magnificent trees because I think I missed them.
Here we have a huge hand with the 3 inner fingers standing while the 2 outer fingers are closed together. Oh, this one is from the Scout Royale Brotherhood or simply SRB. I believe this is one of the more popular fraternities in San Pablo City.
I remember being recruited (by another fraternity) back in High School but I kinda don't like the idea of getting spanked by a 2 by 4 by some random strangers. Just thinking about it makes me cringe in pain. Both my brothers and cousins are members of another fraternity and I remember seeing them walking like ducks with the back of their thighs all purple from the spanking they received. Ouch!
Well, this is a fun picture. We have two monkeys here playing on a tree. These two are very popular. Those walking or jogging around the lake would often stop and play with these two. Some people would even take pictures of them (me included). They seem friendly enough but I wouldn't fully trust these two. They may have something tricky under their hairy sleeves. LOL!
Sampalok Lake has many natural springs around it and this is one of them. The water you see coming out of those pipes are spring water. They are perfectly safe to drink and taste pretty good too.
I'm just not sure what to make of the wooden construct above the spring. Is it a wall to protect the spring from being covered by dirt and soil or are they building something else on top of it? I guess I'll just have to check back again to find out what it is exactly.
Anyway, those are just some of the photos that I took that day. I still have some more but they're not good enough to post here. Most of them are either very dark, blurry and/or out of focus. Looking at them will just make your eyes hurt.
