Free Check Up and Free Medicines at San Pablo City General Hospital
Last week, I had some health concerns that need to be addressed immediately but we were kinda short on cash (well, we are always short on cash). My wife suggested we go to San Pablo City General Hospital, located at Brgy. San Jose, to get myself checked-up by a Doctor for FREE.
We got there by taking a Tricycle and paid 20 pesos for both of us. For a Public Hospital, San Pablo City General Hospital is kinda far from the City Proper. You could probably walk to get there but only if you don't have any money for a Tricycle.
The Free Clinic is located right at the gate of the hospital compound. After getting my personal information, my blood pressure was taken and it was kinda high for my age. The Doctor was alarmed by it. She gave me a tablet and instructed me to put it under my tongue. She also told me that my blood pressure will be taken again after 10 minutes.
Unfortunately, after 10 minutes of waiting, instead of going down, my blood pressure went up higher. The Doctor sent me to the Emergency Room where I was again asked to put another tablet under my tongue while the nurses monitor my blood pressure. After two hours of resting in the Emergency Room, my blood pressure finally went back to normal and I was sent home.
The Doctor in the Emergency Room prescribed a couple of medicines that will help maintain my blood pressure, one was called Metroprolol Tartrate and the other was called Amplodipine. I should take these two daily but, unfortunately, I can't afford taking them in a daily basis. Fortunately, we were able to get some of them for FREE from the Free Clinic.
You can also get Free Medicines from your Barangay Health Center. Just bring your prescriptions and if they have it on stock then you will get your medicines for FREE. The City Health Office is another place where you can get some Free Medicines and, again, you must bring your doctor's prescription.
So, if you need to see a Doctor but couldn't afford to pay for a check-up then simply go to San Pablo City General Hospital and you'll get yourself checked-up by a Doctor for FREE. The San Pablo City General Hospital is located at Bañagale Subdivision, Brgy. San Jose, San Pablo City, Laguna.
